The wait to bring a new life into the world, out of your own body is the one feeling which all the women in the world aspire to experience at least once in their lifetime. The journey of this blissful feeling is different for every woman.The one thing common in this journey is fluctuation of emotions every woman goes through.

Early pregnancy symptoms can be seen before missed periods and before a positive pregnancy test. These symptoms can be seen in three, four, five and six week's. Early pregnancy signs usually are related to pregnancy hormone HCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin which is responsible for pregnancy symptoms. There are different early detection pregnancy tests available that can confirm pregnancy as early as 6-8 days after the conception has occurred.

Early pregnancy symptoms or signs differ from one woman to other and from one pregnancy to other. Many women think missing period is the most important sign of being pregnant, but missing period isn't in the top five very early symptoms. Symptoms of pregnancy vary throughout from the starting stage to the later stage.

Signs of Early Pregnancy

  • Tender, Swollen Breasts: Tender n swollen breasts are the earliest signs of pregnancy. It is caused due to elevated levels of hormones in the blood. This also occurs during menstrual period which is mistaken as pregnancy.

  • Implantation Bleeding or Spotting: Implantation bleeding is one of the early signs of pregnancy and happens around the time of implantation. It is also called implantation spotting. Implantation bleeding or spotting does not occur during menstrual period, it is scanty and usually pinkish or brownish discharge. It can be seen between 8-10 days after ovulation.

  • Nausea or Vomiting or Morning Sickness: Feeling nauseous in the morning is a usual sign of pregnancy. This occurs due to increase in the level of hormones in your blood.

  • Darkening of Areolas: If the skin around your nipples gets darker, you may have successfully conceived, though it can be due to hormonal imbalance or a leftover from previous pregnancy.

  • Elevated Basal Temperature: The lowest body temperature that happens during rest begins to elevate after ovulation, and stays elevated beyond your next expected period.

  • Frequent Use of the Wash Room : Once the embryo implants and begins producing the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Occurs usually after 1-2 months.

  • Cramping: Many womenexperience cramping early in pregnancy as the uterus begins to large. The cramps are same as menstrual cramps.

  • Fatigue and Feeling Tired: Fatigue is a main reason of early pregnancy, though not probably a sure symptom.

  • Food Cravings: Food cravings are also common symptom. Like many other symptoms it occurs due to change in hormones. It is most felt in the first trimester.

  • Constipation: Constipation is also a common symptom. When progesterone increases digestion slows down, so food passes more slowly through the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to constipation.  

  • Mood Swings: The flood of hormonal changes in your body during early pregnancy can make you unusually emotional and weepy.

  • Faintness or Dizziness: Common for pregnant women to be lightheaded or dizzy. These sensations usually result from changes as your body vessels dilate and your blood pressure drops.

  • Food Aversions: Turning up nose at certain food items is often a signal that you are pregnant. Even the smell of some food also causes nausea in early pregnancy.

  • Missed Menstrual Period: If you are pretty regular and your periods are late, it may be a sign that you are pregnant.

  • Headaches: If you are pregnant, you may get frequent headaches because of increased blood circulation due to hormonal changes.

  • Heightened Sense of Smell: Pregnant women also have a heightened sense of smell.

  • Clothes Feel Tighter: You may have put on some pounds due to hormonal changes in your body.

  • Backaches: A back pain can signal pregnancy, but usually it's not an issue until the second or third trimester. It can be caused by mental and physical tensions.

  • Increased Saliva: During pregnancy many women notice that they produce more saliva. The medical term used for this is ptyalism. Ptyalism can happen on its own but it is associated with nausea.

  • Libido: A women's sexuality and libido changes when she is pregnant. It may be in a positive or negative sense. For some women, sex becomes more enjoyable during the pregnancy and for some it brings continual tiredness nausea and/or vomiting.

  • Vaginal Discharge: A slight increase in vaginal discharge is a sign of pregnancy if it does not smell, burn or itch.

  • Just Feeling Pregnancy: Many women will notice that they feel uterine cramping in early pregnancy. The main reason for cramping is actually your uterus growing.

  • Positive Pregnancy Test: Taking a home pregnancy test is probably the most convenient way to confirm that you are pregnant or not. The home pregnancy test kits are very sensitive and accurate and the results are quite reliable. However you have to wait till after a week of your missed period to take this test and get accurate results.

These are the symptoms of early pregnancy. A woman can experience a few or many of these Symptoms during her pregnancy.
